Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using Arclyne ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

Arclyne is operated by the Arclyne team ("we", "us", "our"), based in India.

Subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited licence to install and use Arclyne on up to two (2) machines that you own or control, for your personal or internal research purposes.

What you may do

• Install Arclyne on up to two machines covered by your licence.
• Use Arclyne for personal, academic, or commercial research purposes.
• Export your summaries, notes, and citations.

What you may not do

• Distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or transfer Arclyne or your licence key to any third party.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except as permitted by applicable law.
• Remove or alter any proprietary notices within the Software.
• Use Arclyne to process content that violates applicable law or third-party rights.

Arclyne offers a 14-day free trial starting from the date of first installation. During the trial period, you have full access to all features. After the trial period expires, you must purchase a lifetime licence to continue adding new content. Your existing library and summaries remain accessible after trial expiry.

The trial is available once per installation. Reinstalling the application does not reset the trial period.

Lifetime licence

A lifetime licence is a one-time payment granting you the right to use Arclyne indefinitely, including all future updates released while we actively develop the Software. Payment is processed by Dodo Payments. By purchasing, you agree to Dodo Payments' terms of service.

Refund policy

Refunds are processed through Dodo Payments and may take 5–10 business days to appear. After 30 days, purchases are non-refundable.

Pricing

We reserve the right to change pricing for new purchases at any time. Price changes do not affect existing lifetime licence holders.

Arclyne, including its code, design, and documentation, is owned by Arclyne and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

The AI models available for download through Arclyne are subject to their own licences:

• Llama models: Meta's Llama Community Licence.
• Gemma models: Google's Gemma Terms of Use.
• Mistral models: Apache 2.0 Licence.
• Qwen models: Qwen Licence Agreement.

By downloading these models through Arclyne, you agree to be bound by the respective model licences. Links to these licences are available in the Settings panel of the application.

Arclyne integrates with or links to third-party services:

• YouTube: transcript extraction via yt-dlp. Subject to YouTube's Terms of Service. Use of Arclyne to extract transcripts does not grant rights to reproduce or redistribute YouTube content.
• arXiv: paper metadata and PDFs accessed via the arXiv API. Subject to arXiv's terms of use.
• Zotero: local file access only. Arclyne reads files from your local Zotero storage folder. We have no affiliation with Zotero or the Corporation for Digital Scholarship.
• Hugging Face: AI model downloads. Subject to Hugging Face's terms of service.
• Dodo Payments: payment processing. Subject to Dodo Payments' terms.

You agree not to use Arclyne to:

• Process content that infringes any third party's intellectual property rights.
• Circumvent or violate your institution's policies regarding AI tool usage.
• Engage in any illegal activity.
• Attempt to extract, copy, or redistribute AI model weights in violation of applicable model licences.

You are responsible for ensuring your use of Arclyne complies with any applicable institutional policies, grant conditions, or regulatory requirements in your field of research.

Arclyne is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• Arclyne will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• AI-generated summaries will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
• The Software will meet your specific requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of research, or loss of revenue, arising from your use of Arclyne, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Arclyne shall not exceed the amount you paid for your licence.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Arclyne team from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Arclyne in violation of these Terms or applicable law.

We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms and fail to remedy the breach within 14 days of written notice. Upon termination, you must cease using Arclyne and delete all copies of the Software.

You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the Software. Termination does not entitle you to a refund outside the 30-day refund window.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you may also have rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence, which these Terms do not limit.

For disputes, please contact us at support@arclyne.com before initiating legal proceedings. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, displaying a notice in the application. Continued use of Arclyne after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

• Entire agreement: these Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding Arclyne and supersede any prior agreements.
• Severability: if any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
• No waiver: failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.
